Eight games into the season and there have been some interesting surprises from those recently promoted to the Top Flight. What is your take on the current standings? Are you surprised?
The beginning of the new season has been quite interesting, to say the least. I know, I know. It is too early but getting exciting to see other teams dominate La Liga. This time around it might be that easy for Real Madrid and Barcelona to be the only top dogs. Just my thoughts.
The recently promoted Hull City has probably the biggest surprise in the English Premier League this season. Hull has been in a formidable run. But was this expected or unexpected? Were people expecting Hull to be promoted and remain at the bottom of the table? It is too early to tell when the club will end up at the end of season. All we can do now is just sit back, watch and enjoy.
There has been much talk about racism and La Liga. It is truly appalling and pathetic that a few bad apples give the beautiful game a bad name in a league such as La Liga. It is time for FIFA, UEFA and La Liga to take strict and harsh action, even it means having to fine the clubs big time-- financially and playing time. It is only that the teams themselves will take matters into their own hands. There is no place for racist attitudes in any sport. Period.
After being at the hands of Manchester City, Wenger must quickly turn his team around or might find himself in a world of trouble. Clearly, he must use that transfer window in January to secure veteran players to keep the ship from sinking.
The Spanish Federation has announced its intention to launch a bid for the 2018 World Cup. What do you think?
I know it might be too early to start talking about relegation in the EPL. But given the current situation, which team do you think will be relegated?
It is no secret that Wes Brom woes continue. It is time to bring in new players who can help reinforce the back line and who can actually score. While we are at woes, it might also be time to replace the manager. What do you think?
Most of us would agree that Sir Ferguson is an outstanding manager but his rants and disrespect towards other coaches are becoming, say, old. He sometimes acts as if he is the greatest of all time. What do you think?
