Cisse invited to France training camp
|
AJ Auxerre's Djibril Cisse, France's most promising striker, has been called up by national manager Roger Lemerre for a training camp next week.
The 20-year-old, who has scored 20 goals in the first division this season, had previously been overlooked by Lemerre but played in the under-21 team.
Lyon midfielder Eric Carriere was not invited and said the French manager had told him he would not go to the World Cup finals in South Korea and Japan. |

Only eight players have been invited to the camp at high altitude in Tignes and it is a sign that Cisse might feature in the World Cup squad of 23 Lemerre is expected to announce around May 18.
Goalkeepers Ullrich Rame and Gregory Coupet, defenders Vincent Candela, Franck Leboeuf, Bixente Lizarazu and Willy Sagnol and striker Christophe Dugarry are the other players invited.
Most other French internationals are on club duty during the camp, which will be held from May 6 to 10 in the Alpine resort. |
